This training will help mental health clinicians work effectively with children and families from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds who have been impacted by interpersonal trauma. Information will be presented about the historical, contextual, and personal factors that create risk of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and the consequences of such experiences. In addition, there will be information provided about the ways in which mental health systems and practitioners often practice that create barriers to effective provision of services resulting in racial differences.
