Protecting Kids During Covid-19 Social Distancing

NJCA has put together a set of resources designed to help all adults who are currently communicating with children – teachers, therapists, family members, friends – recognize when something may be wrong. Recognizing signs of abuse is more difficult in this socially distanced environment, and it often takes a different approach to address the increased risk and less “protective eyes” to recognize possible signs and ensure that potentially abusive situations are reported.
Professionals in the field of child abuse prevention and intervention are also facing new challenges in teleworking with kids and families while balancing their own personal challenges. We have included resources and tools to help professionals adapt to the current environment. We have also gathered a set of sources for knowledge and tools to help parents cope with the stresses or raising kids during a pandemic.
