MDT Orientation

The materials below can form the foundation of an orientation for new team members. 

nrcac_mdt_manual_508_may2020  This Multidisciplinary Team Orientation Manual is offered by Northeast Regional Children’s Advocacy Center to provide training information and resources to Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs) to assist with onboarding of new multidisciplinary team (MDT) members. The materials within this manual have been created to accompany CAC plans for onboarding new team members and discipline-specific shadowing opportunities.

https://www.mrcac.org/elearning/cc4course/  Core Concepts for Team Facilitation is a self-paced, online course with five lessons, and takes about 2.5 hours. Each lesson contains foundational knowledge and skills for effective team facilitation, and learners can choose to access all of the lessons or select specific lessons to meet a particular need. The content will be beneficial for individuals who are responsible for facilitation of teams, groups of people and/or organizations.

https://ncacvtc.org/#/login is the link become a registered user of National Children’s Advocacy Center (NCAC) which provides access to a wide variety of courses including Cultivating the Role of a Team Facilitator. This is a self-paced online course that contains 10 modules, for a total of about 5.75 hours, covering a somewhat broader range of topics than the Core Concepts course. 

Field Guide for MDT Facilitators This guide for new MDT Coordinators provides an overview of the CAC/MDT model along with skills and tools specific to the role of MDT Coordinator/Team Facilitator. 

 

Th Value of the Investigative Team video training was created by NRCAC as an orientation tool for both current and incoming MDT members. This training highlights the importance of law enforcement, child protective services, and prosecution in the multidisciplinary team, and the value of the collaborative investigative process.
