Trauma Informed MDT

DESCRIPTION: This presentation emphasizes the importance of the MDT working together from the outcry statement to the conclusion of the case. Considerations of the effects of trauma on child victims, their parents and the family, as well as MDT members will be discussed. Understanding the impact of trauma on MDT members and conflict resolution are critical in the MDT approach.
Participants will learn how to recognize and address these concerns when handling child abuse cases and in their interactions with constituents.

- Discuss the CAC Movement and the purpose of the MDT approach to child abuse.
- Define psychological safety and how GOOGLE research applies to MDT collaboration.
- Discuss trauma, its impact on children and families, and the professionals who serve them.
- Discuss the importance of advocacy throughout the investigative process and beyond.
