- Briefly define human trafficking and distinguish between sex trafficking and labor trafficking, including key indicators relevant to youth and vulnerable populations.
- Review common recruitment tactics and warning signs of trafficking in both online and in-person settings, with an emphasis on early identification.
- Describe the anticipated increase in trafficking risk associated with large-scale events, including the FIFA World Cup, and how these events can create opportunities for exploitation.
- Examine the specific risk landscape in New Jersey, including regional vulnerabilities in North Jersey and the area surrounding MetLife Stadium.
- Identify how increased demand and population influx during FIFA may impact local systems, including child welfare, law enforcement, healthcare, and community-based organizations.
- Define the role of multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) and Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs) in responding to trafficking cases, particularly during high-demand events.
- Develop strategies for MDTs and CACs to prepare for and respond to a potential surge in cases, including coordination, information sharing, and trauma-informed response.
