ATTENTION PROSECUTORS!

The Association of Prosecuting Attorneys (APA) is conducting a brief survey on gender-based violence diversion practices. Please bring this to the attention of your sexual crimes and domestic violence prosecutors.

APA Seeking Input on Survivor Centered Diversion

APA has developed a very brief (less than 5 min.) survey of the field to gather information on current gender-based violence, survivor centered diversion practices. The goal of this survey is to learn about what resources exist to provide diversion, services, and a pathway to healing for survivors of gender-based violence who face significant unmet needs and legal issues that affect every aspect of their lives. Given the trauma and barriers that come from facing criminal charges and their victimization, survivors often are unable to access even limited traditional resources. Information collected through this survey will aid in developing model diversion programs to support survivor centered diversion.

We also aim to learn about the considerations for offices that are not diverting and if there may be interest in implementing a survivor centered diversion in the future. This survey will take less than 5 minutes to complete. All survey responses will be kept confidential and no directly identifying information will be published.

Please complete this survey no later than April 7th, 2023. If you have any questions or comments, please contact Aviva Kurash at aviva.kurash@apainc.org

Thank you for your participation.
