GET AWAY, AND HAVE WORK PAY FOR IT!
There are lots of reasons why going to a big child abuse conference is a good thing. You will learn new things, be exposed to new ideas in your discipline and in others, get to network with other child abuse professionals from around the country, AND you will be somewhere else!
There are so many benefits to going to one of the national conferences that I will repeatedly bring them to your attention. And they happen around the country- some of them that come to mind are held in
- ORLANDO, FLORIDA
- DALLAS, TEXAS
- HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA
- SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA.
(Sounds good, doesn’t it?)
Here’s the first one of the year:

Trauma and Memory
Over the past few decades, questions about the impact of trauma on memory and the observations that many victims of severe trauma report periods of not being able to recall the details of their traumas have garnered a great deal of attention. This Institute seeks to present the latest research, perspectives, and consensus on trauma and memory from the perspectives of forensic practice including a notable case report subject, the evolution of Developmental Trauma Disorder, new conceptualizations, and legal issues surrounding trauma and memory.
