The online world is, more than ever an integral part, of children’s lives. It opens up a wealth of academic and social opportunities and resources – but can also present some safety pitfalls. Parental awareness and monitoring of online usage, along with a knowledge of red flags, can help protect kids from online predators.
While the numbers and types of apps used by children are constantly changing, it can be useful to parents to see what apps are currently considered to be potentially dangerous. This does not mean that all of these apps are inherently bad, or don’t have positive uses – but parents should know the pitfalls and pay attention to what apps their children use and how they use them.
