LGBTQ+ YOUTH CONFERENCE
For Youth ages 14-21
From Garden State Equality:
We’re excited to be putting on our inaugural LGBTQ+ Youth Conference on Friday August 8th at Bell Works! With generous grant funding from the Juvenile Justice Commission, we are hosting this conference for 150+ LGBTQ+ and allied youth ages 14-21 from all across New Jersey. Extensive research shows us that LGBTQ+ youth mental health is steadily on the decline, and community is not always easy to find. LGBTQ+ youth need to know that they matter, and that happens from the ground up.
This FREE full-day conference will offer a balance of both educational workshops and fun breakout sessions. Some of the session offerings we are building into our rotation include Creating an Action Plan for Sustainable Change in Your School, Professional and Workforce Development, Know Your Rights and Self Advocacy, Finding Your Voice-Oral Histories and Storytelling, College Youth Panel, How to Utilize Social Media and Practicing Cyber Safety, Intergenerational Queer Panel, Resume Planning, Arts and Advocacy, Mental Health Matters, and Practicing Self Love.
