Description:

R.A.C.E. training session 4 will address trends in trauma statistics in BIPOC and will explain the roles of historical trauma, social context, and personal trauma of parents in the development of ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences). During this training session our speakers will identify organs and/or systems in the human body that are impacted by toxic stress. We will define Complex Development Trauma, racial trauma, and identify their manifestations. Our speakers will also identify the phases of immigration when trauma may be experienced.

Participants must attend all training dates to receive a NJCA certificate of completion. Continuing Education Credits will be offered for this event. Please see additional information regarding course materials and accreditation information below:

Speaker Biographies:

Dr. Denise M. Williams Johnson earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Emory University in Atlanta. She is a Licensed Psychologist who has been in private practice for over 30 years.

Dr. Susan Esquilin is a licensed psychologist, trained in developmental and clinical psychology at the University of Chicago, with a Diplomate in Clinical Psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology.

Dr. Aida Ismael-Lennon is a licensed psychologist and a certified school psychologist in NY and NJ. She earned her doctoral degree in school psychology from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
