Creating a Trauma-Informed Response to Child Abuse
Understanding the impact of trauma on MDT members and the effects of trauma on child victims, their parents and family, motivates MDT members to take a more empathetic stance when working child abuse cases and collaborating with their agency partners. Through activities and interactive discussion, this course will provide participants the opportunity to identify ways they can implement trauma-informed practices when working with children and families as well one another.
- Participants will discover innovative tools and practical steps to incorporate trauma-informed practices when working with families during child abuse investigations.
- Participants will be able to identify available resources to continue their efforts to establish a high-performance, trauma-informed approach.
- Participants will identify attainable goals for their MDT and CAC to implement a trauma-informed response.
