CRIME SCENE TO TRIAL TRAINING

Zero Abuse Project is offering a FREE, VIRTUAL training for investigative/prosecution teams entitled CRIME SCENE TO TRIAL.

Crime Scene to Trial Information
Zero Abuse Project’s 3-day Crime Scene to Trial experiential course is being offered one time at no cost under our current OJJDP Trauma-Informed Prosecutors Project grant, and will be conducted virtually this February 27-29, 2024.

In this 3-day course, MDTs respond to a report of child maltreatment involving abusive head trauma, child sexual abuse, neglect, emotional abuse, witnessing domestic violence, and animal cruelty. Working as a team, students process a crime scene, interview witnesses, interrogate suspects, conduct a forensic interview, apply for search warrants, and make decisions as to charges.

We have space for 1 or 2 of your local MDT teams consisting of the following:

  • Minimum team requirements: 1 each Prosecutor/DA, Law enforcement/Investigator, and Forensic interviewer
  • Optional additional team members:
    • 1 additional  Prosecutor/DA, Law enforcement/Investigator, and/or Forensic interviewer
    • 1 advocate
    • 1 CPS/DSS/DCS worker

The requirement for participating is that your team(s) must be willing to become licensed to teach the course (for no fee) at least once each year. We will mentor and provide ongoing support.
